Don has been painting and drawing since he was in high school two-thirds of a century ago. He has had no post high school art training, but his high school art teacher, the late Allen Evry of Wheaton High School, Maryland, provided the deepest inspiration for a lifetime of devotion to painting, drawing and photography. Don has worked in pastels, oil crayons, water color and has begun using his digital tablet as a cheap, clean medium. Don is excited by the beauty in ordinary things, the way the light falls on objects, and the hidden colors that have to be contemplated to be seen.
